Sparring & Clinching is the final stage within the Leth's Muay Thai Level System. In this training, all techniques, skills, and principles developed throughout the previous levels come together.
The goal of this class is not to win or defeat your training partner. The goal is to apply Muay Thai as it is meant to be practiced: with technique, timing, control, and respect.
During sparring, you learn how to deal with different opponents, distances, and situations. You develop the ability to apply the right techniques at the right moment, make effective decisions under pressure, and remain calm during dynamic exchanges.
An essential part of this class is clinch training. The clinch is a defining element of Muay Thai and sets the art apart through its combination of control, balance, technique, and effective knee attacks.
You learn how to create positions, control an opponent, disrupt balance, and apply techniques effectively—always with a focus on safety and proper technique.
At Leth's Muay Thai Gym, sparring is practiced with controlled contact. We believe that technique develops best in a safe learning environment where respect, self-control, and cooperation are central.
The focus during sparring is learning, development, and refining technique—not delivering hard strikes.

This ensures that every participant has the necessary technical foundation, can train safely, and understands how to work respectfully with training partners.
Clinch training is one of the most distinctive elements of Muay Thai and an essential part of the Art of Eight Limbs.
While many people associate Muay Thai mainly with punches and kicks, the clinch plays an equally important role.
Within the clinch, you learn how to control an opponent, break balance, create dominant positions, and apply effective knee techniques. It is a technical aspect of Muay Thai where timing, feel, control, and body positioning are more important than physical strength.
At Leth's Muay Thai Gym, we place great importance on developing clinch skills. You learn step by step how to clinch safely and effectively, how to establish proper positions, and how to apply techniques with control.
By mastering the clinch, you not only improve your Muay Thai skills—you gain a deeper understanding of the art as a whole.
That is why clinching is an essential part of our level system and the development of every Muay Thai practitioner.
For many people, sparring is associated with fighting hard. At Leth's Muay Thai Gym, we see sparring as an important learning tool within the development process.
Sparring allows you to develop technique, timing, distance, and awareness in a controlled environment. You learn to handle different situations, apply techniques under pressure, and discover areas where you can continue improving.
Respect for your training partner is always the foundation.
We train with each other, not against each other.
Through controlled sparring, we create a safe learning environment where everyone can develop both technically and mentally, regardless of experience or level.
For us, sparring is not a competition—it is an essential part of the learning process.
This is where all aspects of Muay Thai come together:
Technique, timing, control, discipline, respect, and self-control.
A complete Muay Thai practitioner is not recognized by the power of their techniques, but by their mastery of them.
